Week 53
« on: January 04, 2010, 08:53:46 AM »
Problem

You chose to pay the wages bi-weekly (or weekly). Normally that means 26 (or 52) payouts per year. The year 2020 however has 53 weeks instead of 52 and thus an extra half kinsena (or week) must be paid out.

Week 53 in 2020 is from Monday, December 28th, 2020 till Sunday, January 3th, 2021.

Week 1 in 2021 starts on Monday, January 4th, 2016.

Cause

Every year has 52 whole weeks plus 1 or 2 extra days. These extra days result in 53 numbered weeks in some years. The year 2020 is one such year.

Solution

Possible solutions are:

1) Pay the wage for week 53 as an addition in the "Extra" run of Week 51-52".

2) Pay the wage for week 53 as an addition in the period "Extra 1".

For this you must first enable the option for extra periods:

- Click on: "Company info & Options"
- Click on: "Parameters"
- Place a check mark at "Options" at: "Extra periods"
