Lesson 6 - Add a Wage Code
Many companies have their own specific payroll components. Although Payroll4 comes with a large number of built-in payroll codes, it is therefore often desirable to add your own payroll codes.
- Click on Company Details & Options
- Click on Add > Wage Code
The Wizard starts.
- Enter a Code name and a Description for the new payroll code
- Click on Next
- Indicate what type of payroll code it concerns
- Normal payroll component, for example: Night Shift Allowance, Working Hours
- Payment in kind, for example: Company car, Free meals
- Special remuneration, for example: Bonus, Holiday pay, Severance pay
- Tax-free expense allowance, for example: Petrol allowance, Telephone allowance
- Overtime (not SVB wages)
- Method of payment, for example: BDC, RBC, Cash
- Booking outside the Payroll Statement, for example: Deduction, Loan, Advance
- click on Next
- Indicate how the program should calculate the amount
- Percentage of the salary, for example: a bonus equal to 50% of the fixed salary
- Percentage of the hourly wage, for example: Overtime: 150%
- Fixed amount, for example: Telephone allowance 25 guilders
- Amount to be determined later. Enter the amount manually when using payroll code
- Click on Next
- Indicate whether the amount is a surcharge on the wage (Credit), or a deduction from the wage (Debit)
- Click on Next
- Click on Finish
The Wizard closes and the new wage code is created. The new wage code is now ready for use when entering changes. You can make adjustments if necessary.
